Lacing / silver laced on a silkie feathered bird

Hi! What would lacing / silver laced look like on a silkie feathered bird?

I don't think you would be able to see lacing on them. ?

The best you can hope for is a gray where the ends are tipped.

Thanks! I thought I heard / read that lacing wouldn't show much on silkie feathering. Just wondered if anyone had played around with trying it and what it would look like.
I ask because I have 2 solid black hens from a blue Silkie x silver laced LF Polish cross (should *carry* lacing and silkie feather gene) and a third generation cross back to SL Polish {[( Silkie x Polish) x Polish] X Polish} roo --- silver laced and *may* still *carry* the silkie feather gene.
The hens were spring '06 hatch and if I'm going to try it, I ought to go ahead before the hens get any older.
