I have one too. These are 3 weeks old and the one standing on the feeder barely has the tips of its wingfeathers. others have all of their wings and some on their backs and chests
Thanks for this thread. We're newbies to raising chicks, and we also have one that is sort of summer feathering. Some `r here and some `r there. :} I told my husband it'll have to sleep with us this winter if he/she doesn't feather out right. And my husband mumble something `bout how tasty a three pound fryer is. :/ Not happenin'! Anyhoot, this is encouraging news. Hopefully in 4 weeks he'll look like the other 9.
Same issue here with a black australorp at four weeks, did yours end up okay. He has only feathers at the end of his wings and it looks funny but he’s also my biggest chick and probably cockerel out of the brood he doesn’t look like he isn’t thriving he’s got massive legs I’m betting that’s where his energy is going.
