Here's how I look at this picture thread, for both men and women.

This is to give everyone who is on here more familiarity with each other. It's not a modeling contest. If you want people to tell you how gorgeous you are, there's a E.L.F. modeling contest going on that you can enter. But by bringing up how you do or don't feel slighted by a lack of the right comments, everyone else is made to feel uncomfortable. Please, that is not the purpose of these threads.

Think back to why you started reading BYC. It was because you learned things. Think about why you POSTED on BYC. It was because you needed advice or an ear, most likely. That is what is best about BYC. We help each other, for the most part, and while we are representative of every state in the U.S. and many other countries, we all have some common bonds. All of us.

That is the beauty of this site. When you look at the photos of us, with no thoughts about how someone looks, you'll see that this is a startlingly accurate reflection of the America we love. It is tractors and quilts and grandmothers and apple pie. Critiquing on looks and then on lack of critiques just devalues everything else. There is so much more to the people we see on here than what we see, I would hope.
