Mother's Day is approaching and I was curious what we chicken mothers want for the special day...I have already told my husband and daughter what I would like to have for, as they call it, My Day.

A reciprocating saw, 10 wood blades, 2 metal blades, new safety goggles for the shop and a small toolbox to put the saw and blades into. :)

I found a wonderful reciprocating saw that locks into 5 positions 45 & 90 left, 0 and 45 & 90 Right plus the handles has four locking positions as well.

So Mom's...what would you like for your day?

*By the way: my family does not find my request for power tools or appliances odd....some female friends think it is very odd but there you have it. I believe in useful gifts. Flowers die, chocolates get annihilated and go to my waistline and jewelry well I have to remove it to work in the shop anyway.... so give me power tools so I can build more coops! hahahahahaha

I found out I was pregnant a few weeks ago after trying for 2 1/2 years. So this will be my first Mother's Day as an expectant mommy!!!!

congrats to you, snoggle!!
My DD's dropped off my mother's Day present tonight: 3 burning bushes: large 4 ft plants.
DH gave me my present last week: a new digging fork
2 years ago my son and DIL gave me a 4x4 dog house they found for free along the road. i made a few modifications and it houses 2 setting hens right now:)

I am sooo very practical.
But really the best present is having my middle daughter stay with us for a few months. She hasn't had time in this state for 12 years and it's soo very nice to have time with her. My other wish is to have my DD across the country get permission from her ex to move her and her daughters home to us. Fingers crossed and praying.
Skip the flowers and candy, give me my kids and hugs.

I would love to have at least the chicken run finished. I am also very practical when asking for gifts. I wear limited jewelry, only my wedding rings, my mothers ring with the kids birthstones (3 pink, one green!) my cross, and my Pandora bracelet. None of these are ever off, so there's no room for anything else besides the standard pandora charm that they always get me.

I want the run finished, I'd LOVE one of those Nuwave ovens, (probably not gonna get that!) and I DON'T want to go to my SIL's house in Queens for mothers day. It's too far, I don't feel like catering to all my SILs and MIL on my day, and if I have to hear about the 40,000 my BIL spent on renting the freaking islanders and Nassau Coliseum out for a happy mothers day song for a woman who doesn't even raise her own children, I'll throttle someone.

I'm not jealous-I'm usually just appalled at the foolishness they spend their money on. if they spent that money on a vacation home, I'd think it's great but honestly the stupidity...

Yeah, so if I could just get my little ladies out in the coop during the day, I'd be happy as a pig in slop!

Congrats Snoggle!!! I agree with flowers just dying, chocolates just getting eaten and I don't wear a lot of jewelry so...that and I'm not big on Mother's Day as it is.

More than anything I think I would just like to have breakfast made for me (request granted

) and get to relax a little.

How wonderful for you! I would settle for some new parts for my motorcycle!

Congrats Snoggle! Well you can start planning those Mother's Day requests now. A word of warning...never ask for breakfast in bed if you have a male child! My son at age 7 or 8 (he is now 28) cooked me breakfast Mother's Day....the scrambled eggs were actually pretty good, the toast was a little dry but the pink pancakes OH MY....well let's just say when asked how he made them pink and he replied "I used the pink stuff in the refrigerator *big smile*" I said "Oh Yummy, let's take them to Grandma I bet she would love some." The pink stuff he used....Pepto Bismol.
