One of the things that really gets me is the way hatcheries sell assortments of pheasants. What else could this lead to but crosses! They also sell peafowl the same way mixing colors to no end. If they are going to commit to sell these birds, why not sell pure straight runs? Have to wonder how pure they are to begin with.

I fully agree, but most of those are from private breeders, bought as whole sale birds by the hatcheries, then drop shipped to the buyer. The actual hatcheries (most at least) dont own the first one!
