Lakenvelder rooster

Hello! This is my first post so I hope this is the right spot!

This is our first year with chickens and we have 15 Plymouth Rock hens and 1 Lakenvelder rooster. The rooster was a surprise mystery chicken that we got for free with our order. I was not planning on having a rooster but he’s so pretty I really don’t want to get rid of him.

Are Lakenvelders friendly? Will being the only one of a different breed cause issues? Or does it all depend on the individual rooster and I’ll just have to wait and see?

I have a Lakenvelder roo and he is perfectly fine when mixed with other breeds

Picture please , I think it’s great to start with a surprise rooster , I was so scared to try one and now I love both my boys, I’m convinced my hens lay better, act better and are just happier with them around . Good luck and have fun
