Pacu slid off of Thistles. "I've finally reached the mighty place"
 
Megan began to sink farther down into the dark frigid water. Karen and Jason were the only two who saw Megan fall in. They were also the only ones who saw what pushed her in. It had been 3 arctic hares. Infuriated, the two pups sprinted towards the rabbits. Karen jumped at one of them and buried her snout in his neck, while Jason tackled the other two, knocking one to the ground and causing the neck of the other to snap. Karen had just killed hers when she looked up and saw the last one trying to escape. "Ohh no you don't" she thought as she took a running jump and pounced on it from above. Then she used her wings and lifted the hare up off the ground and flew him over to Jason. "Make sure he stays here, don't let him get away but don't kill him...yet." she called. The hare gulped as he was dropped in front of Jason who immediately pinned him to the ground. Then Karen dove into the water to try and save her mother.

Maxine snuck up underneath Megan and pulled her downwards, away from Karen.

After eating something, Kate felt a lot better, enough to speak and think clearly. "Jack, what the he** are you doing here?" She questioned, not coldly, but not exactly warmly either.

"Well I couldn't just let them turn you into one of their evil minions could I?" He replied with a faint smile.

She hesitated a moment before replying grudgingly "Thank you, I guess."

"You guess?" He cocked a brow.

"Yes, I guess" She snapped. After seeing Jack's hurt expression, she softened her voice "I'm sorry, Jack."

"So, why was Lark in the castle? I think he worked for Vlad?" Jack asked, changing the subject.

"He did, but apparently he's working on his own now to control Lakia. I haven't heard anything from Vlad in awhile."

"Maybe he left?" Jack suggested.

Kate shook her head "No, I don't think so. I'm not sure about any of this really" She admitted.

"What about Cairo?" Jack asked, inclining his head curiously.

"He claims to have switched sides" She replied with a shrug "But I'm not sure I trust him, Maxine has him locked up with his gang. They are expecting me soon. Which reminds me" She said after a moments pause "I really should get back before my team thinks I'm dead or something."

Jack furrowed his brow "Are you sure your ready to travel?" He asked worridly.

"Of course" She replied, a bit sharper then she intended.

"Alright alright" Jack replied, holding his paws up "No need to snap. I can get you there faster if we fly."

Kate narrowed her eyes with a grin "Just like old times"

"Of course" He replied, returning her grin.

"Here, have something to eat, even if you aren't hungry." Thistles said, handing Pacu a bird. "This is going to suck the energy out of us; you won't have any energy if you don't have something in your stomach."

"No prob; eat as much as you like." Thistles replied, taking the wood and stabbing it into the ground. "I'll give you a torch once we're almost inside; we don't want to attract any 'attention'."
