Cairo looked down at the skin and fur on his chest that had been scratched. "Impressive." He said dryly. Suddenly he leaped upwards and grabbed the wolf's back leg. He then began to pound her against the ground, bruising her with each strike.

A cloud of smoke started appearing over the horizon. Something was coming down the channel of the river that ran next to the fort. As it approached, it turned out to be a iron-clad steam sloop from the humans navy. When it came closer still, the Lakians could see that it was crewed almost entirely by wolfs and foxes. She was about 100 feet long with a 20 foot beam. Her hull was rounded off at the stern and was pointed on the bow. The gun deck was the 1st one below the main one, and her boiler room was on the bottom deck just below that. The hull was covered from stem to stern in 4" thick iron plates, which provided very good armor protection. Her single mast was about 60 feet tall while her smokestack was a mere 35. On her bow, her name was painted in bright red: "The Peregrine Falcon". Her sails could get her to about 12 knots, and her twin screws could get about 25; working together, however, the sleek warship could squeeze out 35 knots. Even without any assistance from a current, she was hands down the fastest ship in the fleet. Her mast bore two flags: the top one being the Lakian national flag, the lower being a long, thin banner with the words "Semper Fidelis" (meaning 'forever faithful' or 'forever loyal') sewn into her. The person at the helm appeared to be a human female. As the ship pulled along side the fort and dropped anchor, the captain stepped down the gang plank. Walking right up to Yugi, she said "Hey bro. What, did you really think that those savage humans could make me stay there and not fight for what's right?" Yugi's jaw hung wide open. Finally, he was able to speak "Rebecka... you're...alive?!?"
