"Wait just a second" Jaclyn said to them as a moon scalded lynx threw owl pellets in front of the kids, giving one pellet for each of them. A badger accidentally broke one of the pellets in two as she walked back to her place.

"Eureka!" Malik cackled, picking something shiny out of the pellet. "This is the gem you're picking for." He showed it to all of the kids, it was a small blue pebble that shone dimly.

"The secret rare ingredient!" Nelek added, laughing.
 
"He's showing them what they're picking through those owl pellets for." Jaclyn replied, watching her brother.

"Metal flecks!" Malik laughed. "Great job number 37-...5." He picked up the badger, examining something under her paw.

"Hey! You with the bright expression!" Nelek scolded one of the lion cubs.

"That's all of them." Malik said.

"Oh." Nelek muttered "Listen! He's talking."

"Pickers." Jaclyn corrected him.

"Bones and fur are the norm" Malik explained to the children "But this little thing here, what Mr. Mouse ate, is exactly what you're looking for! Hey, you, number 49-1!" He turned to one of the lion cubs "Maybe you'd like to take it up?" Without waiting for a reply he shoved the fleck right into the cub's jaws, directing him up a set of stairs.

Something glowed at the top of the staircase, and when he reached the top it was revealed to be a set of flecks together. There were blue lines going outside it, and it emitted a blue smoke. A small bat woke up and tried to take the fleck from him.
