Valasca returned to the pairs den. "Evander and Maria are you okay? The storm has passed"

Mali's crying screech burst from her den. "Daru, Pacu! Sasha, Fuego, someone!"

Pacu reached her within moments. "The villagers have begun to attack. You must travel to the Arctic to raise your pups"

 

[TechnoCat]

"Its Spirit! He's... he's gone!" She cried, nuzzling her stone cold pup, tears coming slowly from her eyes.

"Remember the Golden Tooth Sasha gave you. Rest it upon your pup"

 

[TechnoCat]

She rested the Golden Tooth upon Spirit- though he did not move. "Isio mahiliath, tial;iu fa:ar anoink, aninklo maestreta." She whispered the words to an ancient healing spell she remembered her father told her when she was young.

Pacu stepped beside the grieving mother and began to chant the spell with her

Spirit did not move. Malis voice became stronger, her chant more powerful. Spirit roared to life. She opened her eyes, bloodshot, and much of her energy used up.

Pacu stood still for a moment. Amazed by the bond of the mother and son.

Mali took a few breaths, then licked her shivering son. Mali fell to her knees, panting, her energy dangerously low. "Pacu, I don't know if I can make it to the Artic..." She panted. "That chant was used to heal, back in my old village. It will only work if the bond is strong enough. If it fails, the user of the chant will die. If it succeeds, most of the energy in the users body is taken to heal the hurt one."
