Welcome to BYC!
Do you have photos of your suspected males?
There is nothing wrong with eating fertilized eggs. Try explaining to your daughter like this: They do not have chicks in them, they just have the potential to develop a chick.
Yes and no. I am sure she does, but probably not great ones. And I have pictures from about a week ago of her set up in the house until the get the outdoor coop done. Which has the chickens. But not necessarily great pictures.

The possibility is why she feels it is wrong. If there is a possibility then in her mind you should try to hatch them.

Maybe if I can get her to agree to candle the eggs she collects, that would work. But she is a super sensitive, all lives matter, even at the smallest tiniest hope kind of kid. And there is nothing wrong with that. But it will make having chickens, animals and farm stuffs hard for her. But this is what she truly wanted and she did the research and works hard for it. So I am just doing my best to support.

These are the pictures I have of them as they have grown. I will definitely post in the sexing thread when I get her to take better pictures. She had them when they were really little in 2 totes, but then moved them to a dog crate and now they take up most of my living room in a dog kennel while she finishes building their large coop and run.

I have the greatest empathy for her. I love animals too. It may be better to keep her flock very small and stay away from hatching entirely. We had a member who used to say something like "Roosters are often where the reality of chicken keeping overcome the romantic notions of chicken keeping." That's not a direct quote but its the best I can remember. (RIP Aart)

We planned on 10 with a co-op big enough for 20. I expected we would loose some of the chicks and prepared her for that. That is why we were ok with 13 chicks, but we did not loose any. Only had an issue with pasty butt in one chick and though I accidentally pulled some of that one’s tail feathers out it has done well and not had another issue.
