He swung an elbow into her sensitive nose

Kate yelped through her teeth, but didn't let go. Instead, the blow only made her angrier and she bit down harder, the bones shuddering with the strain.

(*cough* Orcs *cough* LOL)

. He screamed and rolled over.

In the distance a patter off feet could be heard

Kate, too focused in Lark didn't hear the footsteps. She kept a firm grip and when Lark rolled over, the movement caused her teeth to slice through several important nerves.

"Let go of him!" A firm distance voice demanded

Kate ignored him and twisted his neck mercilessly, her teeth cutting through nerves and tissue in his spine.

A large figure appeared as he charged Kate

With one final bite, Kate leaped off of Lark and faced her attacker, leaving him almost completely immobilized.

"Leave NOW" The creature demanded

Kate snarled, Lark's blood staining her teeth and lips "Who are you"
