"The hares are a tightly knit community, being quite low on the food chain. If a bird was rescued, even in the desert. The Arctic hares would know about it." He frowned slightly "They also told me something else, about an attack on Kindo's cave, does that ring a bell? Glyfie?"

"The Amber I speak of is an elf owl."

"An Elf Owl is still a bird, and no bird was rescued." Jack replied, his voice losing its warmness and turning hard "So try again."

"How would they have known about it today? She was rescued yesterday, and the hares in the desert keep to themselves. The Rylett desert is almost 700 miles away." Gylfie protested.

"Word travels fast, faster then you can fly." He said.

Gylfie threw her wings up in surrender "I'm an innocent owl, let me go. I've already rested, if I'm set free you'll never see me again."

Maria turned to Glyfie, her blue gaze curious "Tell me Glyfie, how did you manage to tavel 700 miles in one day?"

"Its my natural ability that they gave me in Rylett." She explained "I can fly at up to 200 miles an hour, even when I'm not diving."

"You will stay here, Glyfie, until your story is verified. If you are telling the truth, you have nothing to fear. If you are not..." She winked "Like you, I also have the gift of speed. If I leave now, I should be back by tomorrow with an answer."
