Lakia: The Dark Era

The owl made a sick, gurling sound as he throat was slit, but raised her head weakly to look at Zenobia before she died "Light will vanquish the darkness." She whispered, her eyes glazing over.

Further down the hill in the city, an alarm went off as soldiers rushed to the streets ready to defend the base.

"If only that was true" She laughed as she finished off the owl. "Hmm new plan" "There's a natural gas reserve about a mile down." "We'll use it to blow this place sky high"

Jingo nodded again "Lead the way."

By this time, several soldiers were nearing Zenobia and Jingo.

Near the city centre, Sara was conversing with a quick footed fox, snapping out instructions. She looked across the city, her eyes focusing on Zenobia and Jingo "There are only two of them, get to work people I want results!" She snapped, sending the fox scrambling out of the room.

"We're being trailed I'll try to ditch them through the sky" "Hop on" she said preparing to ascend to the sky

Jingo leaped back on Zenobia, settling just between her wings.

Sara pushed open a door and stalked into the courtyard, sending several birds fluttering away in alarm. "They're in the sky now!" She ordered "Get ready!"

The bird hastily took up their positions next to a set of large bands, stretched back by bears. Sara jumped on top of the courtyard wall and raised her paw "On my mark!"

"Hold on tight" She screamed as she ascended to the sky at magnificent speed.

"Now!" Sara shouted, dropping her paw.

The bears holding back the bands let go and they shot forwards, shooting the birds into the air like rockets. "Target in sight!"

"Just wonderful" She muttered as she dive bombed closer to the cover of the trees.

The first wave of birds reached her in several seconds, the birds being able to steer with their wings. As they reached her, they pulled back and extended their claws. They slammed into her claw's first, knocking her off course and penetrating deep in her body. Back on the ground, the next wave was being launched.
