Hi, all! So, my broody mama Lilly hatched out six chicks last Tuesday, and on Thursday I bought some more to put under her. The newbies took to her immediately, and she to them, but when I went out this morning, one of them seems to have injured its leg somehow. It isn't walking on it, but it is using it as support when it stands. It's not a slipped tendon, but other than that, I have no idea. It can't keep up with mama and the rest, so I have it in a brooder now. Any thoughts?

Update: I let Little Baby run around with Mama and the others today, under close supervision of me and my Agatha Christie novel. The chick seems to be doing much better keeping up, even on one leg. I've had to help it a couple of times, but not often. It's spending the night under Lilly, and I'll be out bright and early tomorrow to check it out.
