I have a sick chicken and this very alive worm was in her pool. She has a grey comb and is lethargic and limps or lays almost on her side. I have her separated and have been giving her water in a droplet but she will not drink otherwise. Will eat mealworms but that is about it. There are no stores nearby with ferbenzadole so I have ordered some online but will take a couple of days. What else can I do to help her until it gets here? Thank you!

Photos of her?

When was her last egg, is her crop emptying, does she have any lice or mites?

I'd continue to work on getting her hydrated. See if you can tempt her to eat mushy feed, bits of egg or fish, etc.

Hopefully the dewormer will arrive soon.

Hi, her crop is limp and extremely empty. Almost like lose skin. I haven’t seen any bugs on her with my naked eye.

But my chickens haven’t been in the best condition because I had rented out my house and they stayed. I came over daily but tenant liked her privacy and so couldn’t do a lot with them plus lots of rains and storms here and run has been wet and just dirt. I am getting everything back to order now. Getting fresh natural mulch today. She hasn’t laid any eggs in the last three days. She just lays there.

More poop pictures may be helpful. How old is she? Does she lay eggs? The dosage of fenbendazole 10% liquid or paste is 0.25 ml per pound or 1.25 ml (1/4 tsp) for a 5 pound chicken. Give it once and again in 10 days for round worms only, but give it for 5 consecutive days for other worms (cecal, capillary, and gapeworms.) Hold food up to her beak in a small cup or tuna can. Mushy wet chicken feed plus a bit of cooked egg would be best for her. Make sure that she can reach water and food. She may benefit with making her a chicken sling or chair to get her upright next to food for periods throughout the day. Here are some pictures and a video of slings, posts 5, 11-14:

Thank you. Her poop is yellow diarrhea now. I found ivermectin for birds today and gave her a dose. hopefully it will help. I will make the sling as well. So appreciate your help.
