Lame Duck Gets a New Name

We don't have a rooster so Lame Duck has taken on the job. Every morning, at sunrise she quacks her loudest quack. That made me think of this statue:



It's in Robert Allerton Park in Illinois, and is titled "The Sun Singer". It faces east and represents a man who sings the sun up every morning. Henceforth Lame Duck will be called,

Sunsinger.​

Thanks to all who responded. Sunsinger seems happy with her new name. She celebrated by giving us 2 eggs. Of course the jealous cluckers pecked one and ruined it, but still.. progress!

I knew that I'd heard the native American legend of the The Sun Singer somewhere. I've been searching high-and-low on the internet for it. For those interested in such things this is the best reference I've found:
