lame duck (hen) ***warning, pic heavy***

Ok my hen was hopping around my porch today. I like my little hens, and this one especially because it's the one that pecked me in the eye a few months back.

She's got some weird stuff growing on her foot.
I brought her in, soaked it in warm slightly soapy water for about 5 mins then set her in the bathroom sink, gave her 3 eggs (2 are gone), cold water and then when my wife got home I took these pictures.

I don't mind making her a little brooder in my bathroom again for a few days... It's a long weekend and all. What else should I do to help her foot?

I'm a new chicken mama, so I have no idea what to tell you about this crud on your poor hen's feet.

I vote bumble foot as well. Put in the search field. Lots of info on it.

It looks more like an injury to me. I'd keep it clean and apply Bettadine or iodine to it once a day to prevent infection while it's healing. Any injury can provide an opportunity for infection (eg. staph) which can then result in bumblefoot.
