Lame duckling

We have a Pekin who is walking on hocks and wings. He stood today enough to flap his wings upright. We have started him on Niacin. We are getting duck food tomorrow. He was on chick starter from Tractor Supply. We asked questions but they never told us that ducks need supplements to grow. Our blue runner is doing great, he encourages our Pekin to move but not walk. We have tried swim time which "Tom" enjoys, we do stretching, we have done a "sling" to help him walk. They are in a baby pool with towels, food and fresh greens from outside. He's eating and drinking like a champ. I'm going to do a "hamper sling" tomorrow. He's 3.5 weeks old, what else can we do to help him? He's such a sweet cuddly baby, I don't want to lose him. It would probably break me, these babies have helped my depression so much.

Nicain is very important for ducks espically for their legs. Everyone makes mistakes I even acidently feed my ducks chick starter. I don't know how to help you but hopefully someone will.

We had 6, 5 out of 6 are doing great. 4 went to different homes a few days ago and they are doing so well. It seem like Pekin's are a challenge because of how fast they grow. Thank you though, I even had my bible study pray for him I felt silly for asking but this baby means the world to me. I even put a stuffed teddy in with them tonight to make sure his chest is cushioned. I'm doing everything I have read about. Good news though, he got up and waddled away from my dog upright. My duck is feisty and so am I.
