Ok, now that I've looked both words up I'd say we might should define "duck expert"... Who told you this?
LOL! We had the same thought

I am certainly NO expert and I'm gonna guess hensCan you take side pictures of them? How long have you had them? IF they are hens they certainly should be laying eggs.
I think that's why the 'expert' said 'lesbio.' ?? The size and the stance. Males tend to stand legs further apart. Pictures to show their length would be most helpful. That first one, the all black one, just screams drake to me. The size, the thick legs, the large face mask. The other one, I'm not 100%. More pictures would definitely help. It's much easier to sex muscovies if you have a bunch to compare to each otherThe size is usually the giveaway.![]()
Thank you so much for your quick response, I was hoping they were girls but we are not really that sure because of their facial markings and their aggressiveness, but our "duck expert" said that they could be lame ducks meaning that they are hens but don't have the ability to lay eggs. It's something about their DNA or something I'm not really sure I hoping one of you guys would know because our "duck expert" is kinda nutsWhat is wrong with them? Forgive me, I'm not sure what problem you're referring to when calling them lame ducks.
Edit: after looking at your pictures, I am fairly sure you have two drakes. Let me post your pictures here and see if I can get some muscovy experts to weigh in. I also saw that you said they were pinning each other down. Not unusual if they're both drakes. They'll do that if they have no females to mate with. I originally just had two pet drakes and they did that all the time.
I am still curious what you mean when you say they are lame ducks though because I have never heard of such a thing. Never heard of "lesbio" either.

Maybe shes not that much of an expert, we're first time duck owners so this is all new to be! She says thats what she likes to be called and I'm not sure why she used that term thoughWell that's weird. I have no idea why a 'duck expert' would tell the OP that their drakes are...I guess very masculine females? Why would they even think that as opposed to them just being drakes? I'm guessing that the 'expert' is self-proclaimed and not really a duck expert at all.
We have had them a year and a half, no eggs we were thinking they were drakes and have been looking for a good home for them because we don't want them to hurt each other. And I will post some picture from the side if they don't get too aggressiveI am certainly NO expert and I'm gonna guess hensCan you take side pictures of them? How long have you had them? IF they are hens they certainly should be laying eggs.![]()
