Lame goose

It took a long time for them to get back to me. I just kept calling and leaving voicemail messages and sending emails. Even after paying I heard nothing for quite awhile. I had to learn to be patient but I love the geese I got!

Well, I finally convinced DH that I needed to get Clyde in to see the vet. She agreed that the knee joint is swollen and warm. X-rays do not show a fracture. The vet withdrew some fluid from the swollen joint and cultured it. She also drew blood for labs. It may be gout which will not be a good prognosis. Hopefully it is just an infected joint and it will heal with antibiotics. So we are $650 poorer and have to force pills down Clyde's throat twice a day. Oh joy. Hoping for the best. He was a really good boy at the vet and a real hit at the drive thru window at El Pollo Loco on the way home!

Well good . . . in the last three months I am also substantially poorer for finding an excellent and dedicated avian vet

to take my sick birds to.

Here's to hoping Clyde's knee is something that can be completely healed, or at least something he can live with and have a good life
