The other eggs failed to hatch. We also had a Black Orpington die in the shell. But two Buckeyes are running around in our brooder tote with a lovely White Lamona.
I should hear from them today. If not, I will call them about the eggs. Last time it took two hours to get off the phone. There is just so much to learn about the Lamonas. Thankfully most is already written down and several have emailed me copies of articles etc.
We moved the turkey poults to a grow out pen weeks ago. Cleaned their new brooder tote and now have the Lamona, two Buckeyes and 2 black Wyandotte Bantams in our living room. My wife is making sure they have feed and water while I am selling watermelons. The bantams are a few weeks older, but about the same size, for now. The Lamona needs some friends and these seem to appreciate its company.

Maybe you ought to give your "oddball" neighbor a melon or two. Maybe he will soften on the edges a little.
