Hi everyone. I guess I'm a bit confused after reading the most recent posts on this thread. Is there an original source of the old Lamona bloodlines left, or is all of this just about recreating them again? I would definitely be interested if there is some of the old bloodline left.

There is one flock left, but only two poultry judges know its location, the owner is ill and confined to a wheel chair and wants to hang on to the flock as long as he can. I have made an offer to acquire the flock. Will have to wait and see.

I read some material on this breed and was very interested, but then read they were extinct , I sure hope every egg from his flock is being incubated, and those peach faced bantam lamonas absolutely beutifull I hope you can get some of your stock back.

Hello,
I was thrilled to read that you may have Lamonas. Were you able to get the breed? Do you still have any available or will you in the future? I am interested in either the chicks or hatching eggs to hatch myself. Thank you kindly.

So what is the verdict on this breed? I just found out about this and wanted to see if any existed. Reading this thread is like a novel: We have one chick! It died. We have three chicks! They died. We will have a trio! Nevermind.... *ACK!*

I would love to help in any way! Any updates? Are there any birds outside the first two known flocks? Anyone recreating them?

About 50 or 60 chicks were hatched last summer. In late fall I went and culled them to about 20 pullets and 5 cockerels. About 1/3 of the pullets showed light pyle markings. Egg color was improved to dark tint to very light brown. At the owner's passing everything was dispersed.
