Lamp ON chicken wire?

Is this honestly okay?? The chicken wire is zip ties to the lid and the bulb is 75 watt.

Are you sure that it's not too hot in there?
Do you have a thermometer in there to measure the temp?

Is it safe to have the heat lamp, with a 75 watt bulb, laying directly on the chicken wire, facing down into the brooder?

75 watts is not a typo?
Should be fine, as long as wire is firmly attached.

Good morning! No typo, I went out and picked up a 75 watt, as I just felt the 250 was overkill. I have a laser therm, and the temps are all in good range. I did end up moving the brooder and securing the lamp though. I just wasn't sure if the heat could break down or compromise the thin chicken wire, and of course anxiety of the zip ties somehow popping off. But majority of people that I have chatted with about this, say it's fine, so that's great to know.

It won't hurt the wire no where near hot enough, could melt the zipties tho.

You can use a dimmer extension cord to adjust heat out put.

Zip ties are good to at least 185°. You'll be fine.
