Land problem can you help?

I'm not sure what it would cost to have the glass and junk buried. There are just to many broken bottles and to small to clean up. We're talking years of dumping.. I do know the area along the creek is protected wet land.

The tires I think I can get Jesse to get and may have to wait til spring for the rest, cuz it's weeded now. Of course everyone is right about the metal but I'm not sure about someone willing to come and get it. It's pretty far back. Our land is 632' on the one side.

I was wondering if anyone has had the state or DEC come in to clean up the mess left by morons who have polluted the land with junk.

In my own yard use area I've had to use raised beds for my garden, due to the lousy fill that was used to build up the yard. Chunks of tarvia and cement. Just terrible.

Thanks for the advice folks. If I was younger I'd be doing this myself but I'm just too old and crippled up.

Could someone with a bobcat & dump truck access the area? Around here that goes for about $140 per hour for the combo + dump fees.

You might be able to check online to see if your EPA has a fund for minor cleanup of issues on private land but since you're not sure what all is there... I've known of 2 commercial properties that sold to unspecting buyers then sat idle for years because of million dollar+ cleanup issues being battled out in court between buyer and seller.

Hoping you find a workable solution so you can plant your trees.

old car batteries are worth 10 buck each at any junk yard..

scrap metal is worth TONS right now.. You'd be crazy not to sell it...

After you sort out the valuables,

The rest of it, hire a backhoe to dig a hole and bury it..

A few years ago, we purchased an old farmstead... with it came several fallen down buildings, junk tractors/ cars, and the such... With all the scrap metal we hauled off, we made a down payment on the place-- for 40 acres at 2900+/ acre.. that was quite a bit a cash from the junk yard...

Well I hardly know what to say. I was out back working to put a door on the new run and I hear a noise on the other side of the fence. Like metal being moved. So I look around the side of the fence and here is a guy taking metal from the property next door. I knew there was junk there too but figured that was their problem. Well I say to "Jeff" my new best friend, I've got some stuff over here too if you want it. So "Jeff" comes over and has a look. Short story long, he came and took the fridge and a whole bunch of metal. Says he'll come back in the spring to get the rest since it's pretty weedy and in the spring the junk will be easier to see.

I'll wager there is more than a grand in metal between the two properties.

Yay. Knew you could find someone willing to haul it off for the scrap value. Glad your new friend showed up.
