So my LL called this morning to see why I "have been underpaying my rent" . . .
I told him to check his records again and he would see that he lowered it to $700, and charged me a $25 utility charge for water, so 725 total.
He then said I was wrong and I heard him actually open the file, and low and behold, I was right!
I have even been paying $10 extra it seems . . .
So I then told him he had some nerve calling me without even checking the records first, and reminded him about the 2 huge oak trees that fell on 2 fences, that I cut up AND fixed the fences without asking for a dime . . .
He was apologetic and nice about the whole thing, so I told him that in order to offset my costs of cuttin up his tree and fixing his fences, he should allow me to "acquire" some chickens.
He was hesitant at first, but I told him I talked to my neighbors and they were fine with it, the county allows it, and they were hens only no roosters.(all of this is true)
I told him he was the last link in the chain and I didnt want him to find out a hard way that I had them, and he said no problem, just that I might throw him some fresh eggs once in a while . . done!
I already have my chickens and would do it anyways, but its soooo nice to not have this hanging over my head as a reason to get kicked out.
Now, I just hope he dont call me up in 6 months and ask me " why the heck do you have chickens"?
So, now I get to build my very own permanent coop and run, Im so excited.
And the county ordinace says I can have as many hens as I can reasonably care for without becoming a nuisance . . . do the chicken math
Looks like the ol Chickenwhisperer just became a flock manager!!!
I might even just split my yard in half with 6ft chainlink fence, dogs get 1 half and the chickens get to free range the other half.
Just my backyard is over 15,000sqft(if I remember correctly)
Today was definately a good day!
