Can I ask why they look like cockerels? I'm trying to learn all I can about the langshans!

In most lines the pullets feather out faster body feather wise, while the cockerels don't get body feathers for another couple weeks. Not all lines, and at 4-5 weeks with very little breast or body feathering it's just a guess.

All of the chicks from the LF black trio that I bought from Sherry Parker look like cockerels. Every one of them is slow feathering. The oldest chick that I have is 11 weeks old and he has only been feathered for 2-3 weeks. I have quite a few that are 5-8 weeks old and not a one is feathered in. Chicks from my other Langshan line feather in really quickly and I can tell the sex by 3-4 weeks. I have my fingers crossed that there will be some pullets from Shang and his girls Mulan & Lucy Liu. If the hens are only throwing boys, I'm going to have to do some rearranging of the breeding pens!

OK. I am LOVING those names! That is hilarious! Please name one of the cockerels Ping!
Ping! We had that book when I was a kid! I have quite a few running around here so I'll keep an eye out for which one deserves the special name Ping! My other cock that I recently got from Dirt Farmer already has the name Lincoln but we've been calling him Link. That sounds a little more Chinese. His two girls don't have names that I know of so we are looking for nice Chinese names for them. I guess for extra boys we could always go with famous names like Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee!
