I agree with Asia Baru Market. It gives a good sense of the variety of things you sell. As a native English speaker (who also speaks other languages), I understand the concern over nuances of meaning in "shop" or "store" or "market". To be honest, they would all be "correct" in meaning. "Shop" has a slight sense of smaller or focused on a single type of merchandise, place - like a hat shop or a butcher shop. "Store" is the general term (to me) - the one that could be used for any shop or store or retail establishment. "Market" implies a variety of goods rather than a single type. It's not a butcher shop or a hardware store, it's a market and has meat and some housewares and other stuff too. So yes, I agree that "market" is the best word here.
I like market also. Makes me think of a large place with many different items offered. I work in a "shop". I do metal fabrication. Its a machining and welding shop. Maybe its a southern thing but when I hear the word "shop", I think of a small car garage, carpentry, a hair salon ( beauty shop) and other trades. I take my car to the shop to get worked on. Make sense? To me, a shop offers services, a store or market offers goods to be sold.
That can make a difference. In USA, we are always thinking of the name being found easily on google or in a normal printed telephone book.
It also makes a difference if it is in America, aimed at one ethnic group. For example, an Indian store near me, is called 'Indo-American Foods', they sell mostly food, a few kitchen implements used for that style of cooking, etc. 'Apna Bazaar' is a good name for another store that sells more variety of items - it sells Indian food, Hindu worship items, clothing, kitchen tools and rents videos in Indian languages.
If it is in USA, I would avoid the word 'Shop' in the name, as it sounds repetitive to Americans. Unless it says something important about the business, like 'Asia Baru Shop and Save', for a discount store.
If you sell a variety of things, often in the USA, the word 'Variety' or if an ethnic store, Bazaar. Such as 'Indo-American Variety'.
To Americans, 'Mart' usually means a very small store, very small floor space. If your store is very small, 'Mart' is good.
'Market' often is used for a store that sells food as it would be bought from a farmer - not packaged foods, but fresh vegetables, fruits and fresh meats. In a 'Market' the food is in bins, and people choose their own and put them in a plastic bag for weighing. But you do see 'Market' used sometimes for other types of stores.
'Asia' in a name (In the USA, anyway), should be for a store that sells Asian products - products brought here from Asia - specialty foods, spices, ethnic clothing, books, videos, etc.
So I like the name 'Asia Baru Market' for a store in USA, IF you have specialty products (imported from Asia).

Actually I'm planning to use only my business real name "Asia Baru", but since that name has already taken by other people for example for domain name and social networking username, I don't have choice than adding another 'extension' next to the business name. Perhaps you can have another suggestion to make a different between my business with the other one?
I can't change my business name anymore since this name already used decades by my family.
Thank you.

yes, it does make a big sense. So the choice is placed between store or market?
then, if I using market, doesn't it means for big place with many merchants?
thank you for sharing your opinion.

thank you for sharing your opinion welsummerchicks. No, "Asia Baru" doesn't mean that this business only sells goods from Asia or with any limitation. "Asia Baru" is name given to this business by my grand father. It's just the name, not related to what we sell.
in my country, when we said market, it means a big place where many merchants come and sell variety goods. That's why if I put on Asia Baru Market, then it would mean my place is where many merchants come and sell kind of goods.
isn't it make sense?
oh, my business is not located in US, I live in Indonesia.
any idea about it? I'd like to use only Asia Baru but it seems that other people already use that name for publicity on internet like domain name and social networking username.
thank you in advance.

thank you for sharing your opinion..
but, isn't market means for big place where there are more than one seller selling several kind of goods?
I guess there it would be confusing, here in America I grew up with supermarkets or just the coner market. My mom would hand me some money to run to the market for milk or what not.
So if market does not work for your location then go with store.
