Large amount of poop on hens behind...

I noticed a large amount of dried/wed poop on my hens behind. Tonight i tried to pull it off but it is stuck fast. I didn't want to get her all wet soaking it because it's in the 20's and 30's here. Any ideas?

I have a few that refuse to roost and they get really nasty butts as a result. I clip their feathers when the poop gets too nasty looking on them. I think in your case I might try to ignore the problem until spring if possible. It's too cold for a bath and a bare butt.

When they are little, i read to take off clumped poop so it doesn't back up...do you think that is not the same for adults?

I think you may need to do the warm bath and take her in for a day or so to get her dry. or try a little veg oil to soften it and get it off or vaseline..just a thought
