This is the second sore that has appeared on our turken. The first was on her chest. I thought she had scraped herself or injured herself in some way until I noticed this one show up. The other one is totally gone. It got smaller and smaller over the course of about a week until it was gone. She is acting normal and laying.
We adopted a kitten from a shelter and recently discovered it has ringworm. The two have had no direct contact as the kitten is indoor and the chickens are all outside. But this is the only thing I can think of.

Looks like a spider bite to me, is it infected?
I don’t believe so? Nothing oozing and not red or swollen surrounding it. Appears to be dry and scabby. Could a spider bite be that large? It’s about the size of a quarter.

If it was a toxic spider it can easily get huge. I've seen spider bites get a few inches across. It could be a different bug or not a bite at all. It could be a skin tear but those usually come away in angles. It looks like it's trying to heal and the bird looks bright so I would worry to much. You can smear it with a little honey or neosporin if you want.

Thank you so much for your responses. This gives me some relief. In your opinion, is there no need to separate her from the rest of the flock at this time? As long as the others aren’t picking on her wound?
