Large dog puncture wound, what to use?

yes, I kept her in the house for the first few days, and she started getting restless, then I took her cage & all iin to the chicken house for a few days, moved her in the cage in/out of the chicken house ,sun & so forth, leet her scratch on her personal litttle piece of dirt, and after about 2 + weeks, of checking the wound and cleaning daily, I took the mini pad off, and left the wrap of roll dressing around her neck & back. She looked like a turtle with feathers ! too funny, and was upset with me because I bruised her dignity LOL
The area scarred, and slowly new feathers began growing. My Hubby wanted me to stitch her skin back in place, but I couldn't do that. she's doing very well now.

Furacote and Terramyacin (spelling!) has been bought. The nice lady at TSC said that was good stuff, and so was the EMT gel? So yeah, i'll get right on it

So how do I dose this teramyacin? It's a giant package, and I only need to mix a little.. what's the ratio of powder per quart of water?

the ratios should be on the package, but it usually mixes by the quart. Remember only mix what you will use for that day, otherwise you can over/undermedicate, as it loses its potency after being mixed with the water.
Good luck..

Don't use hydrogen peroxide,it kills the good cells along with the infected ones. Normal saline or boiled water with salt (salty to taste) cooled down is much better.Try to keep the wounds moist and if possible don't change dressings daily every other day is better unless dirty...the less messing with the wound the better. If the dressing/pad is dry wet first with saline to make it wet before removing, other wise you'll be opening the wound again.

Good luck
