Thanks everyone for your response. I just went out to check on him and he was laying snugly in his house. Before, he wasn't even able to walk up into his coop at night. I am starting to think now that the mites were the problem to begin with because since I got rid of them he has improved greatly. The knot is a little pibk and warm but nothing like yesterday. I will continue his aspirin and antibiotics until it clears up. Does anyone know if it is safe to continue the aspirin daily until he gets better? I just don't want to give him too much.

I think you are OK with the aspirin. I think the dose is 25mg per pound per day. If I remember you were giving a baby aspirin. That's only 81mg. You could probably give two, if the chicken weighs at least 6lbs, but I would space it out over the day. Not all at once. It is a blood thinner and can hurt the stomach, but I don't have a clue about chicken blood or stomachs. I'll go look at a couple other links and add to this post if I find anything.

ETA I couldn't find anything mentioning aspirin being toxic to chickens.
