Large Incubator build - need help

Sorry, Like I said, Don't listen to me.

Built myself a similar bator, not as pretty as yours, and I had the same problem. I used a GQF heat element and thermostat, I tried the heating element mounted to the top of bator, did not work, so I found a pic of a GQF bator and seen the element zig-zig in front of the fan so I cut another piece of plywood, cut a hole for the fan so the fan would blow across element. It worked better, than I had the problem you are having, tried using pc fans to blow air to bottom, did not work, anyway, Tried numerous things, but I got a $6 fan at walmart, mounted to back of bator behind element, put a 40w light bulb in bottom with a pc fan blowing on it ( afraid of a hotspot on eggs) and temps are .4 degrees difference between the 2 trays.

Here is a pic without the light at the bottom. I have a 4" gap at the back of my bator for air return to the fan.

I drilled 6 1/4" holes on the shelf where the water pan goes. I bought a 6" $6 dollar fan. I tried a bunch of stuff, driiled a bunch of holes were I mounted different things. It was hair pulling alot. My next bator is going to be out of oak and and a false back on it. I think it still needs a bigger fan. But I was really wanting to use it, so right now it has 72 eggs in it, to hatch Sat. ( Fingers crossed) You have nice looking bator.

Looks like a nice bator to me!!! .4 deg difference is great - I would be happy with 1.4.

I was thinking my fans are to small - 2 4" pc fans

That sounds like a good idea too
