Large quail egg

I just collected a quail egg weight 26.6 g from my Texas A&M today. My jumbo quail lay single yolk eggs weight 14-18 g, double yolk eggs weight 20-26 g. The small egg in the picture weight 17.3 g.

I wonder if your quails feel like they go into labor and give birth each time one of these is layed. ..

Hard to imagine a large product from a small bird.
