Large sore on single wattle

Sorry, Kathy... I didn't get a chance to doctor on the bird today, so I didn't get any pictures... but I did get to take a quick peek at her this evening. The spot you asked about (pus) appeared to be a pustule in my best judgement. Funny thing is, the pustule is gone and where it was located is a shallow, pink hole. The small scab on the front of her wattle is also gone, and again, there's a shallow pink hole where it was. Neither one of the holes show any sign of infection. The large scab is still there, but it appears to have shrunk in size. I'll try again tomorrow to get you some pictures, and then the wait for pus will be over. I can only imagine how relived everyone will be when that happens!

Update. I finally got around to working on the pullet's wattle, and I was pleased to see that it was doing very well. The swelling has gone down tremendously, and I think it was still enlarged simply due to the depth of the scab. I boiled it with peroxide anyway, and removed the scab to see if there was any infection underneath. There was none. She's going to be okay. Just for kicks, I'm including pictures

Kathy..you notice the little spot that turned to scab...
It was the same little spot that you were asking if it was pus the other day.

None of others have developed any sores. The only other one with a sore is the younger pullet in the other pen... the one I spotted it on originally. Fortunately, it appears that I don't have a highly transmittable disease on my hands.

Yes, and I was gonna say that if it turned into a scab that I though it was pox.
