Large Spurs on 3 yr old rooster

Is there any benefit of cutting spurs off of the rooster?

There might be, depends on the spurs. We always like photos by the way.

Sometimes the spurs get so long or wrap around in a way that they interfere with a rooster walking or the point may even dig into his leg injuring him. That happens with some hens too but that's really rare.

Is there anything special going on to cause you to ask or is it just a "I don't know" question? Most people never have a need to do it but most doesn't mean all.

Keep him from spurring you, scratching up the hens or interfering with his mobility.
As far as I know these are the benefits to trimming the spurs.
