Large tumor like growth on my hen

I am making appt for vet just because it has my curiousity. I have soaked it twice and got most of scab off but still cant get it to drain. I have her living in the house right now to stay clean and have her on special diet. Will post what vet says.

Do you know if she was vaccinated for Mareks disease? Tumors can be common in chickens, but especially if they have Mareks disease or avian leukosis.

Unfortunately I do not know because the whole flock was given to me about 8 months ago. They came from someone who's husband died and she couldn't take care of them any longer.
