This chicken has a larger, elongated pupil it seems. She acts fine but her normal demeanor is cautious and doesn’t really left anyone pet her or pick her up. Is it because she may not be able to see? Or what caused this or is this? She acts fine with it and eats and walks normally like the other chickens, but was wondering if she can see properly in that eye.

The pupil in the right eye may be a coloboma or a keyhole pupil, which is a common birth defect. I would try to determine if her eyesight is affected in either eye by placing food or treats to see if she can see them.

Now looking back I don’t really see the pupil looking like that. What could’ve caused it? Also do you think it may cause further problems because she acts fine now…?
