Larger Raised coop?

Seeing the pics of JackE's coop brings back memories of summers spent at my Uncle's place. He built a coop nearly identical (as far as my aging memory can tell).

oh. and this was on a small island in Casco Bay off the coast of Maine (not far from Portland).

I'll be reading the book tonight. I have to show this thread to dH, he's the builder, I'm the rough carpenter and helper. I have a mixed flock, including a handful of silkies

, and a frizzle cochin bantam, so I need to think of everyones needs. This may work well, and may appeal to dH(also important).

Oh yeah, JackE's coop is the one that made me want to put a large "picture window" in my coop!

It's only 32 sq ft (4X8 - plywood size), but I put double doors on it and plan to rake it out that way. If you want to check it out, look for the modified Purina Henhouse thread.
