Well I have exciting news! I'm so tickled I'm beside myself!
So my pastor's wife wants some hatching eggs. I told her I would test a few to make sure they are fertilized and viable. Last Sunday we fired up the incubator and put in 4 blue and one brown egg. Three days later I candled, with disappointing results. One blue looked completely clear. Other eggs seemed to have nebulous blobs, or a blob, floating in them, but I saw no veins. I almost pitched them on the spot. But then I thought maybe it's just me. I'm very inexperienced. So I decided to wait a few more days and candle again. Tonight is Day six. And - they ALL HAVE VEINS!

My cockerels are macho! Hooray! I've been preparing two dozen eggs so I will take them to her tomorrow. They've been in cartons, pointed ends down, at room temp, and I've been rocking them two or three times daily. So ... she should be good to go.
I'm so excited! I'm going to be a grandhen!
