I’m so sorry to hear that this happened! I was going crazy just after a knee replacement, and that was just a day or two. Get well soon! 🙏🏻
Sorry to how much you are going through. Your bread looks perfect! Can't believe you can even do that with all you have happening. I can't imagine how much you miss your birds. I will be praying for your healing.

WHAT?!? I have heard that it can take weeks or months to recover from a knee replacement! Who's your doctor? When I'm ready for a transplant, that's the dr I want!

Thank you so much! For the compliments, the encouragement and especially for the prayers! I need to come back on and let everybody know how much help I have.

Bread looks awesome, Blue!
It's so hard to heal from things like this. Your flock will be beyond excited when you're back to clean their doodoo! Glad you have a good support system in the meantime. It really makes all the difference. Oh, and a positive attitude, of course! But you seem to love laughing as much as I do, so I think you've got that covered. ;)

I have been remiss in letting y'all know how much help I have. I don't know what I would do without my #1 helper, Melissa. She is my 24-yo granddaughter. You may have seen me refer to her as my GC, my GirlChild. My DH and I have raised her since she was 10. She's on disability for a range of emotional and physical issues, the result of years of foster care. She takes amazing care of me, bringing me breakfast and pretty much running the household now that I can't, cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. She even does a lot of the grocery shopping and cares for the chickens and dogs the best she can. For this DH and I pay her a small salary each week to supplement her disability.

Then there's DH himself, who truly has the heart of a servant. Though he's 70 yo, he's still working so he's gone all day. But when he's home, he's very solicitous, always wanting to do little things for me and make sure I'm comfortable. Do I need anything to eat or drink? Am I warm enough? Would I like a snack, etc. If I need to go anywhere, to the hospital, the clinic, a dr appt., he takes off from work and takes me.

So you see I have nothing to complain about! 😊❤️

😁 T. Marc Barnett, Carolina Hand and Soorts, Asheville NC!

To be clear, yes, I did do post-op PT and home exercises afterwards, if only because I hadn’t been able to really use my leg for months before surgery.

But I was walking without a cane 2 days after surgery (total knee replacement), fully weight-bearing. Short, fast outpatient surgery; used a walker to get to and from the restroom from my post-op recovery bed about 40 minutes after waking back up, and then went home. Full range of motion after a week. And believe me, I’m no athlete 🤣

I had a partial knee replacement on the other leg ten years ago and lay stoned on the couch for five days. No comparison.
