Not sure if this is a lash egg. It's one of my ameraucana pullets, she has only laid 2 or 3 other eggs so far. And then she laid this today. It's not hard, its very squishy. Just look weird and I've never dealt with lash eggs before

Yes, it appears to be a lash egg (which is caused by an infection of the reproductive tract). Can you cut it open and take a photo of the inside?

That isn’t typical if it is lash material, but it may be. Maybe Wyorp Rock will have a look. How old is she exactly? It would be sad to just start laying and have lash material. It has a membrane and almost fatty-looking material. It could be from infection but I am not sure. Lash eggs can be waxy or meaty looking and multilayered. Salpingitis, an inflamed oviduct, causes egg materials to become firm fleshy masses that get stuck inside the abdomen if they are deposited there or inside the oviduct. Here is some reading about lash eggs and salpingitis:

Well I do know it was runny when I cut it open and it was very yellow like yolk. Even saw some egg white. She is only 5 months old.

Hopefully it was an abnormal egg since she is a new layer. But if I suspected that she was sick, acting puny, lethargic, or if you feel that it was lash material, you could treat her with amoxicillin or enrofloxacin antibiotics. Then I would wait 3-4 weeks to use any of her eggs. Here is a link for amoxicillin which should be given for 10 days:

Here is enrofloxacin which is tablets, and dosage is 1 tablet for each 2.2 pounds of weight given twice a day orally for 5 days.

Ok. I've gone out and checked on her multiple times since she laid that egg and she is eating and drinking normally. And no droopy tail feathers. But im planning on watching her for a few weeks just to be sure. I have amoxicillin on its way now. I may have jumped at the bit a little early. But I'm prone to panicking when it comes to my animals 🥴

What do you feed, including treats?
Do you provide oyster shell free choice?

Looks like a thick shell membrane incrusted with calcium with a bit of yolk and albumen inside.

At 5months, it may just be a glitch, but I agree, having an antibiotic on hand is a good idea.
