Hi,
I recently found two lash eggs on two separate occasions in my flock's coop. Should I be worried about this? How would I identify which one of my flock is producing them? Over the last few days one of my hens has gotten poop stuck around her backside, could this be related?

Any help would be appreciated.

The hen with poop stuck around her vent could be the one. A hen that has salpingitis will sometimes have difficulty pushing droppings out and that results in dirty back sides. But dirty butt feathers can have other causes also. Trying to ID for sure can take some investigation. Check often, see if you can catch them in the boxes and positively ID the one doing it. You can also feel abdomens for any bloat or firmness (that would be the lash material building up inside) or any water balloon like feeling (that would be fluid building in the abdomen). It depends on how advanced the illness is, sometimes it takes a while for the symptoms to be obvious. In more advanced cases there can also be crop problems from the pressure in the abdomen. They can get quite bloated and the legs will be more spread apart making them waddle when they walk. More info on salpingitis here:
