But since you can't get it in... you'll have to cull it. A chick may be able to survive without the yolk sac with a very thin narrow margin of all hope and luck, but it cant survive if a loop of intestine get's cut off on the outside by the naval.

I am sorry you are having those problems.I have had this happen to happen to me.And it is hard to do.When it moves around,does it get stuck on something.And does it look like a long cord hung to it,the yolk. Sandra

If it does,this is what I done.Don`t cut it too close.But take a pair of real sharp sizzors and cut it loose way back from the navel.I done it to mine and was scared and then the next time I done it and it just come off with my fingers.Because I knew if I did not it would soon get caught and bleed to death.Good Luck!!!!! I checked on him this morning and unfortunately he died. When I wrapped him in a towel last night there were more intestines hanging out and his navel was closing so it would have been impossible to get them back in. So he was probably better off, I'm glad he didn't have to suffer long. And eventually I would have, have to culled him anyway. Poor little guy..
