Could it possibly be because they were shipped? Shame that the hatch was such a bust.

Had one chick I had to help hatch live and act healthy for about 1-2 hours...just went up to check laying there DEAD....I have nooo clue why the chicks are dieing and the eggs didnt hatch. I moved the eggs from my incubator to the "hatcher" which was a brand new Hovabator....but I think what did them in is I didn't dissenfect the bator. I thought since it was new it woudlnt need it......even though I was right about to dissenfect it with my other bator. Gawd dang! But I still dont know if that is what did it......because they were only in this bator for 1 day......but this is the first hatch I have had that has preformed sooo poorly.
Not sure what happened.
Owell I have 15-20 coturnix chicks coming from a breeder in Florida...Im stoked!

I will deffinetly hatch more but not right now....going to get that bator all cleaned out and dissenfected tomorrow...Still have muscovy eggs in the main bator.
And the chicks from Florida include...

6 Goldens
4 Texas A&Ms
4 Ginger/Fawns
1 Red Tuxedo

They are coming express!

If it was I think all hatcheries would ship express and then they would have very few fatalities...

Nope one is a Turbo fan...the other is still air....converting it to turbo fan whenever I have the cash....And whenever I have surplus cash getting a DICKEY.
Also the express for these chicks was $20.00 they are coming in a chick shipping box.

i need a new incubator myself because i do not see myseld hand turning 50 quail eggs and i have an lg if i bought a turner for it, its 40$ then quail egg trays 20$, already spent 60$ would think you might as well buy a better bator, i really like this deal https://www.gqfmfg.com/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=66 but im not sure id have any use for normal bobwhites.... but.... 184 + bout 120$ to build cages + 15$bwaters/feeders + 25$ feed = 344$ ..... i think this might be getting expensive lol

LOL I love my GQF bators.....but really want a DICKEY! Go for it believe me I don't know about your area but in my area I could sell bobwhite chicks/started birds lickity split.
