I let my broody go back to her flock today. It's the chicks first night alone. When I let her back with the chicks at night coz the others weren't letting her in the coop she snapped at the chicks so was ushered in to her coop with the others. All my adult chickens free range over the farm during the day. When can the chicks join them?

I'd give mom and the little ones a place of their own to sleep and let her raise them. Let them free range with the others in the day. Mom should protect her little ones from the others. Might watch for a day or two for agression from the older chcikens to be safe.

The chicks are 6 weeks old. Mom laid an egg so I thought it was time for her to return to her coop. I have two adult hens and one rooster who free range but when and how do I introduce the chicks?
