I have five bantam marans chicks ~ 3 months old; One was obviously a rooster very early on-light color and a huge comb and wattles. The other four remained similar looking except two are darker than the other two.
Within the last 2 weeks two of them, one dark one and one light one, have shown substantaily more comb and wattle growth than the other two. Is it possible that two of the fours' gender could be established at such a late date?

pics?? i don't think marans come in bantam size (or at least i haven't heard of that yet)

Thanks for the reply.
Sorry, I don't have any pics available right now.
There are bantam marans; the cuckoo is the most prevalent.
They're not too widespread but there are two types, clean-legged and feather legged.
Do a search for bantam marans in the forum and you'l find a few mentionings.

it is possible for them to show later be on the look out for the saddles which should start coming in soon
