That's good

So far one baby has hatched! A tribble serama from the shipped eggs. Two more eggs, bantam mille fleur cochins from my own flock, are pipped and may be hatched. About to go check. I hope the power outage didn't mess too many of them up

I ended up getting 40 quail chicks to hatch from 71 eggs, but I spoke with the breeder today and he's had similar results where he usually gets 95%, so I feel a lot better about my results. He gave me another 6 dozen free to make up for it, so they'll be in the incubator late tonight. He said not to expect much better results, but it'll get me to where I had hoped to be with the first batch.

Well at least you get more free eggs!

Yep, no complaints here. I added an inch of R5 insulation to the outside of the incubator so it'll hold the temps better and I put some hardware cloth and shielding around the light to keep the light off the eggs and the chicks away from the water, light and fan.

I'm ready for round 2...
