Poor lil guy. I have never seen that. Thanks for posting pics tho. Congrats on your first hatch! You should feel very proud. Glad everything is good with your child too!:D

Thank you! I know, it was really strange. Just yellow goo stuck all over. Really starting to perk up though so I'm starting to get pretty hopeful!

It looked like scrambled egg...Like the yolk sac had somehow ruptured around him... You should be pleased with yourself on your first incubation and you have beautiful healthy chicks & one in the infirmary.

Update! Twenty three out. Three look dead. No movement at all. One is pipped and one is trying. I've heard him tapping since last night. May have to help him but I'm so scared to try. I assisted one wrong end pipper and he's almost out. Just trying to let all those little skinny veins finish drying up. And my little scrambled or infected guy is still going! His vent has some dried up stuff though.

Thank you!! I feel pretty good about it. Sad for the three that died but I guess you can't win them all.

Day 21 (+4 hrs) still have the first pip same size. A second pip has a little bit of feather sticking out. A third that I'm not sure if it is actually a pip or fluid seeping out thru the small end of the egg. No sounds. I so want to open that thing and help the babies lol

Sharon,

If there is fluid in the egg then the egg is not ready to hatch, so resist your urge.

I'm trying. Keep looking in the side. Temp is going down humidity up and pip number one looks a tiny bit bigger. This is nerve wracking. Can't see any others pipping yet. I know I seem stupid but I never grew up around chickens or animals to be used to the excitement.
