Late maturing?

Here are my buff wyadonettes. 13 weeks old.

Oh my gosh! My Cochin's feathers look exactly like that! Don't worry though, some chickens mature later than others. They're feathers will grow in eventually.

It looks like those saddle feathers are developing right on schedule. They usually aren't visible until sometime after 12 weeks old.

That's what I was afraid. I was hoping they would be pullets, guess they join the stew pot with the rest of the cockerels in a couple weeks. They love to crow.
